- Never paint anodes
- Anodes should be checked and cleaned frequently - a dirty anode is not protecting your outdrive
- Anodes should be replaced once they have dissolved 25% to 50%
- Installation of a Mercathode system can prolong the life of your anodes
- Boats connected to shore power should also have a galvanic isolator installed
